Quick answer

In brief

Satellite dish installation covers new dishes, realignment of dishes that have drifted, cable and LNB testing, receiver setup and extra TV points. Vertex Automation carries out this work for villas, apartments and multi-unit buildings in Dubai, setting alignment with a signal meter and routing cable through concealed containment where the building allows. In multi-unit buildings, one roof-level feed is distributed to every unit over shared SMATV or IPTV.

How it works

Designed as one joined-up system, not a list of devices.

  1. 01

More than new dishes: realignment, cable and LNB work

The work covers more than new dishes. Realigning a dish that has drifted, replacing weathered cable or a failed LNB, setting up receivers, adding points for extra screens and relocating a dish during renovation are all part of the same service, and every job starts the same way: with a survey of what is actually there before anything is recommended.

  2. 02

    What actually decides signal quality

Signal quality comes down to three things: a rigid, correctly placed mount, an accurate alignment, and sound cable between dish and receiver. We set alignment with a signal meter, not by eye, because a dish that looks fine on a clear evening but sits marginal on the meter is the one that drops out first in bad weather. Which satellite a dish is aligned to, whether Nilesat, Arabsat, Hotbird or another, depends simply on the channels you want to receive; these are broadcast signals a dish points at, not services we sell.

A dedicated media room arranged for film and music

The dish is one end of a distribution problem. What reaches a viewer is the other end, and the cabling between them is what decides whether every room gets a clean signal.

Buildings: one feed at roof level, not a dish per balcony

For buildings, the arithmetic changes. A tower or apartment block doesn't need a dish on every balcony, and an individual dish generally needs building-management approval and an agreed position first; a shared system takes the satellite feed once at roof level and distributes it to every unit, either over dedicated coaxial distribution, usually called SMATV, or as IPTV over the building's data network. If you own or manage a multi-unit building, we can advise on which approach suits its risers and existing services before any equipment is discussed.

Room outlets are planned with the furniture. A receiver position nobody can reach without moving a cabinet is a service call waiting to happen.

What it gives you

What a careful installation gives you

Hardware is the means. These are the things you notice once the system is live.

  • 01

    One survey, one installation

Dish position, cable route and TV points are agreed before anything is drilled, then installed as one job alongside any network or cinema work already underway, instead of three contractors making three sets of holes on three different days.

  • 02

    A signal that holds

Alignment is set with a signal meter on a rigid mount, and we test the cable and the LNB as well. Weak or weather-sensitive reception usually traces back to one of those three, not to the dish itself, which is why we check all of them before recommending anything new.

  • 03

    Tidy from the street

Mounting positions are chosen to be discreet as well as functional, and cable runs follow existing containment or concealed routes wherever the building allows, instead of being clipped down the face of a wall for the whole street to see.

  • 04

From one screen to a whole building

The same feed can serve a single living room, every room in a villa, or every unit in a building through shared SMATV or IPTV distribution. The design scales; the method, survey first, plan agreed, work documented, stays the same at every size.

Scope

What a dish installation covers

Set at design stage, from the property and your priorities, never from a fixed package.

  • Site survey covering line of sight, mounting options and cable routes
  • Dish supply, mounting and meter-set alignment
  • Realignment of existing dishes that have drifted or been disturbed
  • Cable and LNB testing, repair and replacement
  • Receiver setup and tuning at every screen
  • Multi-room distribution from a single dish
  • Guidance on shared SMATV and IPTV distribution for multi-unit buildings
  • Concealed cable routing within existing containment where possible
  • Dish relocation during renovation, repainting or a move
  • Signal verification at every point, documentation and handover

Project detail

The dish and its cabling sit on the same drawings as the network, TV points and home cinema, run in the same first-fix pass, not added afterwards by a separate contractor. In a villa, that means the satellite feed lands at the same rack as everything else and reaches every screen the project wires. In a multi-unit building, the headend and distribution are planned alongside the building's network risers, so the two do not fight each other. Either way, a new screen later is a documented extension along a known route, not a fresh cable improvised across a finished wall.

In a new build or renovation, the dish position, roof or facade access and cable routes are planned into first fix, so nothing arrives later as surface trunking, and in a new multi-unit building a shared system designed early spares the facade a dish on every balcony. In an existing property, we survey the dish, mount and cabling already there, reuse whatever tests sound, and extend coverage to the rooms that need it with as little disturbance to finished walls as the building allows.

In Dubai

Satellite Dish in Dubai

Climate, regulation and the way this city builds all shape the specification, before any equipment is chosen.

Dubai is hard on exterior equipment: months of direct sun, heat, coastal humidity and wind-blown dust all work on brackets, cable jackets and connectors. Mounting positions and cable entry points are chosen with that exposure in mind, and a dish that has drifted after a windy week usually needs a realignment visit, not a replacement. We install and service dishes across Dubai, from Marina and Downtown apartments to villa communities further inland, from our base in Al Quoz.

Where a dish sits on a shared building, mounting and cabling generally need building-management approval before anything goes up, and many villa communities apply their own rules to external fixtures in the same way they do to gates and garden structures. We prepare the drawings and technical details management typically asks to see, and where a building already provides a shared satellite feed we'll say so, because connecting to it is often a better answer than adding another dish.

Questions

Satellite reception, questions we are asked

Yes, and it's standard design, not an extra. The dish is fitted with an LNB and distribution suited to the number of screens, and cabling runs to every TV point the project needs, so each screen tunes independently. Adding another screen later is an extension of the documented layout, not a second dish.

It depends on the building. Some towers provide a shared satellite feed to every unit, some permit an individual dish in an approved position with building-management consent, and some allow neither, in which case IPTV over the building network may be the practical route. We check what applies to your building during the survey and design around it. We don't assume either answer.

Usually not. Weak or intermittent reception generally traces to alignment that has drifted, a mount that has worked loose, weathered cable or a failing LNB, and all of these cost less to put right than a new installation. We test the signal at the dish and again at the receiver, tell you which link is the problem, and replace only what has actually failed.

Yes. A shared system receives the satellite feed once at roof level and distributes it to every unit, either over dedicated coaxial cabling in an SMATV arrangement or as IPTV across the building's data network. Which approach suits a given building depends on its risers, its existing cabling and how the building's network is set up, so for owners and building managers we start with a survey and a recommendation, never a standard package.

A correctly sited dish can be aligned to the main broadcast satellites serving the region, such as Nilesat, Arabsat or Hotbird, and the right one depends on the channels you want to watch. These are signals dishes are aligned to, not services we supply; any subscription or channel package comes from the broadcaster. Where more than one satellite is wanted, the dish can be specified with multiple LNBs to cover them from a single installation.

Start with a site survey

Tell us about your property and where you want reception, whether that is one screen, a whole villa or an entire building. We'll survey mounting options and cable routes, then quote the work on its own or as part of a wider project.
